wasteWater Treatment Lab plant & design

labortaory designs for testing and analYSIS

Wastewater treatment plants and their labs must have specific facility and layout considerations, for the proper and safe handling of wastewater.

treating water waste requires Special attention.

At OnePointe Solutions, we provide full laboratory design and furniture manufacturing services for wastewater treatment plans to meet the unique requirements of each of our clients.

Our range of entities we service and build wastewater treatment lab facilities include : Industrial Plants, Municipal, State, and Federal Government Organizations, Dairy Plants
Military Operations, Universities.

What Do Wastewater Treatment Plants Do?

Wastewater treatment plants work to analyze water samples and remove contaminants from both industrial and residential wastewater. A variety of physical and biological processes are used to decontaminate the water and prepare it to be returned to the environment.

A Wastewater Plant's Process

Wastewater contains residential sewage, industrial runoff, and urban stormwater, which must be filtered and put through a series of chemical and biological treatments in order to remove sludge, oil, grease, bacteria, and other organic and inorganic contaminants. We manufacture a wide range of waste water treatment lab furniture options equipped with dozens of optional accessories and made using the best and most durable materials.

WWTP casework options

When designing a wastewater treatment laboratory, you are going to need plenty of storage for materials, chemicals, testing tools, and equipment. Metal and stainless steel lab casework can help you keep your workstations clean and clear of mess, and offer plenty of space for water treatment lab technician to work and perform tests efficiently.

Casework can also help you prevent spills, mixing of reactive chemicals, and damage to delicate laboratory tools. If you are performing purification techniques like a carbon adsorption and ion exchange processes, we can supply custom benches tailored to your water treatment laboratory equipment.

WWTP Laboratory Furniture

Laboratory workbenches and tables used for WTTP’s lab testing should be carefully selected to ensure safe working conditions for laboratory personnel. Sludge, biological materials, and harsh chemicals present in wastewater can be corrosive. And may build up in cracks, crevices, and dimples in the surface of countertop materials. As such, WWTP lab tables and workbenches should be smooth and non-porous to avoid saturation or bacterial accumulation.

Moisture-Resistant Countertops

Wastewater treatment plant labs naturally deal with a lot of water during the process of wastewater testing, necessitating that their furniture is water-resistant and hardy against regular moisture exposure and bacterial buildup. All three of these materials provide advanced water resistance, are easy to clean, and provide smooth non-porous surfaces where bacteria won’t collect or build.

If you prefer a seamless design to further prevent bacteria from building in crevices, choose epoxy or phenolic resin, which can be poured to fit any tabletop configuration without any seams.

Wastewater Treatment Lab — Frequently Asked Questions

A wastewater treatment plant laboratory typically requires chemical-resistant casework, fume hoods or biosafety cabinets. Along with instrument benches for spectrophotometers and titrators, sample storage refrigeration, and corrosion-resistant countertops like epoxy or phenolic resin, and stainless steel. No wastewater treatment is the same. It’s best to evaluate what’s perfect for your plant. At OnePointe Solutions, we design and manufacture casework and fume hoods to SEFA standards. In addition we provide compliant biosafety cabinets and worksurfaces.

Epoxy resin and phenolic resin are both excellent for wastewater labs because they are non-porous, chemical-resistant, and easy to sanitize. Stainless steel is preferred when bacterial control is the top priority, since it resists biofilm growth and is fully impervious to moisture. The right choice depends on the specific contaminants and chemicals being tested in your facility.

Wastewater lab casework should be SEFA-tested and NSF-aligned. SEFA 8 governs casework durability and chemical resistance for laboratory environments, while NSF/ANSI standards apply to surfaces in contact with potable water systems. Both certifications confirm that the materials can withstand the chemical exposure typical of wastewater testing. At OnePointe Solutions our lab casework meets those requirements.

A wastewater lab design project can vary greatly from initial consultation to delivery based upon 3D drawings approval, whether or not funding is secured, along with manufacturing and installation fluctuating based on materials, casework volume, customization, and site readiness. OnePointe Solutions provides free initial design consultations as part of every project and can provide you with a timeline based on your wastewater treatment lab.

OnePointe Solutions designs and builds furniture for wastewater treatment laboratories for municipal water and wastewater authorities, federal and state government facilities, industrial plants, dairy plants, military operations, and universities across the United States. We serve facilities of every size, from small municipal plants to large industrial reclamation operations.

WWTP lab casework is built with extra emphasis on moisture resistance and bacterial control. Surfaces must tolerate constant water exposure, sludge contact, harsh sanitizers, and corrosive chemicals like sodium hypochlorite without degrading or accumulating biofilm. Standard casework materials like plastic laminate and wood are not rated nor recommended for this level of continuous moisture and chemical exposure.
